We have 3-seated sit-on-top kayaks for rent. These are very stable and suitable for groups or families, as they have room for two paddlers and one companion. Paddles and buoyancy aids are included. We can arrange transport for you and the kayaks within Kalix municipality.

For more advanced users, we also have sea-kayaks for rent. These kayaks have storage compartments for equipment such as camping gear and extra clothes. They are equipped with both skeg and rudder for easy changing and keeping of course. Paddles and buoyancy aids included. Transport can be arranged within the municipality.

GUIDED KAYAK TOURS

Nordic Life Experience also arranges guided kayak tours. There are many beutiful and scenic routes around Kalix, and we can help you to select an option suitable for your preferences. Lake, river or sea - we can let you experience either. Or a combination.
Kalix River - A good option if you want to view central Kalix and the immediate surroundings from the water. We will pass some historic sites and make some stops for photos and fika(swedish coffee break with pastry and/or sandwiches). We will make landfall where the river meets the sea. Ca 11 km, 4-6 h
Sangis River - A beautiful and varied tour. Start just below a small waterfall, and make your way through a small river surrounded by houses, forest and meadows before you reach the wide eastuary and then continue between islands as we reach the sea. Ca 13 km 4-6h

Korpikån - A small stream north of Kalix. Lush landscapes of forests, pastures, fields, and tiny villages will surround you, as you make your way to Björkfors where Korpikån meets the larger Sangis River. This tour is available from May, when the water is still cold after winter, and the trees and bushes start to bud. Throughout the summer when colourful dragonflies dart above the surface of the stream, and into the beginning of autumn, when the foliage around the strem turn form green to yellow and red. Ca 18,5 km, full day.

Kalix Archipelago - one night at Getskär
This two day tour will take you from the coast outside of Kalix out into the archipelago. Starting in the morning we will embark towards Rånön, the biggest island in Kalix archipelago. We continue along the island, stopping for lunch along the way. Later in the day we will finally reach Getskär/Renskär, an island that is part of t he Likskär Nature reserve, and a historical site. As a fishing camp Getskär/Renskär has been an important location for the local population throughout hsitory. There are even old stone mazes on the island, which purpose still remains unknown. During the afternoon and evening there will be time to explore the island and have a refreshing sauna with the mandatory dip in the sea. We will make dinner on the island and spend the night either in a cabin, in tents or a combination, depending on the number of participants. The following day we will eat breakfast, and then say goodbye to this magnificent part of the Kalix Archipelago, and start paddling back to the mainland. A light lunch will be served along the way back.
